Update as of July 8, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. CST

We want to provide an update on an exposure to COVID-19 within our Querencia community. We learned Tuesday, July 7, that one of our Plaza residents tested positive for the virus. This resident is no longer in our community and we currently have no active resident cases of the virus at Querencia.

We also learned three team members tested positive for the virus. By way of recap, we have six total active team member cases of the virus, all of whom are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.

We understand that you have concerns about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community, and many of you have questions. Please know we continue in our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.

As a reminder, Lifespace and Querencia are continuing to follow heightened infection control guidelines. We encourage everyone to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments, practice social distancing, and please remember to wear a mask or face covering when you are leaving our community to interact with others in public settings. Proper hand hygiene including handwashing and the use of alcohol based hand sanitizer are essential to preventing the spread of infection. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.

We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Querencia management team.
